Devious Journal Entry

Sat Jan 10, 2009, 8:56 AM
Hello everybody.
It's time for some ranting, concerning photography.

Please note, I use Panasonic DMC FZ7, which is a super zoom camera and not a single-lens reflex camera, people usually use. Which means that no matter how hard you try the image quality won’t be as astonishing as you know it from single-lens reflex cameras, simply because its basic operations are different.

However, Panasonic is currently the leader in the super zoom market (and is constantly improving the technology of its super zoom cameras), especially in regards to the image quality. Some people even talk about “a D-SLR-like quality and performance”. It has a good optical image stabilization and a full range of manual functions, including the ability to shoot in RAW formats. And as far as ergonomics is concerned, the Panasonic DMC FZ cameras are much better than heavy SLR cameras. They are compact and light, which makes them easy to carry around. Somebody said: “carrying it over your shoulder or around your neck for a full day won't send you to the chiropractor in the morning.”

Finally, with all the manual functions, the camera is perfect for amateurs like me, who are interested in experimenting and learning more about photography. So please, if you have no idea, don’t criticize the one and only weakness of my camera. If you feel like commenting my photos, you’re welcome. However, I’d rather you give some constructive critique on my skills (not the cam). Advices are also greatly appreciated.

Thanks to everybody who read this entry.
